My holiday gift guide for the jetsetter.
I grew up in Toronto. My dream of being able to learn how to surf dated back to “Blue Crush” and “Soul Surfer” – but the closest thing I had to it near home was braving the Great Lakes during winter in the middle of a windstorm. No thanks. Besides, the California coastline and beaches of Hawaii seemed much more appealing at the time.
Do everything, one thing or nothing at all. This is your trip – and anything you do sets you up for the perfect escape.
That’s what I love about Tofino. You can set out to have a weekend to shut off and unwind, pack it with adventure or have a bit of both in the mix. There is literally no wrong answer.

Did I go anyways? Duh.
Ford Canada recently launched their 2018 Ford EcoSport to the world, and they took the celebration nation-wide by driving the car from coast to coast! Check out my leg of the tour from Thunder Bay to Winnipeg!
South Dakota wasn’t on my radar or bucket list – but it’s definitely a spot that you should add to yours. From the rolling hills to some of the biggest caves in the US, all the way to the sky-scraping Badlands sitting under the darkest skies and the brightest stars – you won’t be disappointed. ⠀⠀
While social media is a great tool to get people out and exploring, I find a lot of the time it ruins places. I get that this is a big debate and hot topic, and I’ll save it for another day, but I strongly believe that we need to build awareness of how to properly adventure while always making sure we have a serious appreciation and respect for mother nature.
